It's been a busy start to 2017, playing cockney psycho Dean in "A Kidnapping" at Hope Mill Theatre and Stephen Joseph Theatre, with the lovely and talented folk at Swaggering Crow, produced by the wonderful Play With Fire team.
The end of 2016 was all film, film, film!I was lucky enough to play twisted loner Trav, in "Surf", directed by Mike J Scott, as part of ishorts, with BFI/Creative England. I also played angry sink-estate father Thomas Grainger in "Skye", produced by Genesis Flux Films We have been lucky enough to win Best Acting at the Rode Film Competition and you can view the short version on my clips page. This was finished with murderous plumber Harry in "Brew", with Bodfish Films. I call them my misfit trilogy!
Other work in 2016 includes "Humble" at JB Shorts 15 directed by the wonderful Chris Honer, formerly of Manchester Library Theatre. I have also taken part in the REACT project at Manchester Royal Exchange as part of the winning group, chosen from many! This was a great week in May, researching, developing and collaborating with theatre makers of different disciplines on the theme of 'Brexit'. And we all know how well that turned out! Work in 2016 also includes filming an episode of "Crimes That Shook Australia" for Foxtel Australia, recently shown on Crime and Investigation Channel.
I have enjoyed various rehearsed reading, particularly with Manchester ADP, in Trees Of Nature and Happy Memories and also played Irish president Eamon de Valera as part of Liverpool Irish Festival.
I have also recently enjoyed working with the creative writing students at Manchester University, workshopping their scripts and giving them advice on how to write for actors, along with their course leader Julie Wilkinson.
Highlights of 2015 included working on Site-Specific piece Tram, aboard a moving Metrolink vehicle, for award winning theatre company Shred Productions, which was hugely enjoyable and also playing a cross dressing billionaire in "Safe In Our Hands", directed by Alyx Tole, for which the reviews were very kind!
2014 was a busy year, with OFFIE nominated "A Bright Room Called Day", a particluar highlight at Southwark Playhouse.
